A Mission Born from Service and Solidarity
The story of Helmets to Homes began in Southern California, where we witnessed firsthand the unique challenges facing veterans returning to civilian life. Our founders, a small group of former service members and community advocates, saw too many individuals who had served with honor struggling for basic stability.
We started with a single shared room and a simple conviction: that no person who has worn the helmet should ever be without a home. What began as a local effort has grown into a structured transition program designed to bridge the gap between homelessness and permanent housing.
Today, we remain committed to our founding values of integrity and compassion. We continue to provide not just a roof, but a dignified community where veterans and individuals in transition can find the stability and resources they need to build their own futures.
